In an age when social networking is all about connecting via status posts, the bubble burst with an interesting new entry, Instagram. The picture-posting and sharing network is unique that was built for the Mobile, rather than the Desktop. However, the company appears to have corrected the wrong and now offers a desktop interface as well, with Instagram.com.
While users now explore more and look at enjoying the experience of Instagram on the desktop, here is a look at why this become such an iconic social network.
Initially, as a start-up the app found its way to the iOS devices and is available for the iPhone. It allowed users to share photos on the Instagram as well as networking media, Facebook as well as Twitter.
The fun part of the platform is the funky filters. These filters when used with the images allow users to post pics that are exotic, to outright funny and quirky.
Algorithm based on Brian imagery
Apparently the idea of the App was born to ‘clone’ the brain’s movements to capture memories. Apparently the brains powers to capture any memory are dynamic and surreal. Since these dynamic features are not available on the desktop environment, Instagram was developed as a mobile variation.
After the app was introduced on the Android platform as well, it soon began to be explored for other uses as well. There came questions from the business community, on adopting the photo-sharing network for business uses.
The social networking platform has over time developed a whole new range of related apps. For example, there is the Floowgram.me which will allow you to create a button for people to follow directly on the web itself. Then, there is the Instagrid.me option which will allow you to have a common place to store all of the photos used on Instagram online. The collection can be viewed in nearly the same way as a gallery, or alternatively in a grid format. Instagrid allows one to have a permanent link to the gallery as well.
From a much loved photo-sharing and liking social networking site, Instagram has evolved into an app with multiple possibilities.
