For users of calling app Skype, it is time for some more bounties to be showered by Skype’s owner Microsoft Corporation. In a new move, it has many of the loyal users rooting for the giant software company MS Office integrated on Skype for the mobile is on the way!
Just when one thought that there is nothing more that Microsoft Corporation can tweak on Skype, comes the blockbuster sweep. In mid-2015, the company announced the launch of its Business edition on Skype. It integrates MS Office Calendar now with the standard fare of group messaging as well as video chats; all this covering 250 people and more. Now, the company has decided that it will offer the same features for the mobile as well.
The integration is expected for the Android platform as well as the iOS platform.
Mobile App with MS Office Integration
The mobile version of the productivity tool integration will include a central dashboard. This centralized node will allow users to search for contacts, as well as check for messages. RSVPs too feature on this dashboard, allowing scheduling of meetings. The dashboard can also be searched for past conversations and archives.
What’s more, there large-sized onscreen buttons are more convenient to use. Then, there is the full-screen video chat aspect as well.
However, these are proposed features which are currently in the incubation stage. Apparently, Skype is prospecting business houses to become part of the preview program.
The mobile program when launched will run on Lync 2013. This means users will have to have this running on their devices, if they want use it. Currently, corporate employees have been inducted to be part of the preview program. Participating firms have deployed four employees each for the iOS platform and four more for the Android version.
Microsoft engineering team proposes to have the mobile version of MS Office suite on Skype by ‘end of the year.’ As more productivity tools appear on the same platform as collaborative working, business are nothing but happy. For a proprietary service, MS Office for running business via mobile on skype is definitely something employees and their employers are looking forward to have on their gadgets.
